This Cottesloe residence is located on a 656m2 flat site within a small new subdivision. With an emphasis on natural light, open volumes and strong connections to outdoor spaces, the house is planned around multiple courtyard spaces.
Primary indoor and outdoor living spaces focus around the main northern courtyard, whilst entry and secondary living spaces are surrounded by smaller courtyards.
A carefully conceived pavilion building form is enhanced by a mix of materials, thus providing a textured and layered design aesthetic.
The building form itself is controlled by a low pitched roof and wide eaves. Timber and zinc cladding combined with rough cut stone provide balance and proportion within the overall palette of materials.
